FAQs-Frequently Asked Questions

State Assembly

After you have checked into your room and and are settled, if Registration is still open, go Register; if not, you can register the first thing the following morning. At that time you will receive your badge and Program (which has all of the meetings, room locations, and times). Then, before you leave the registration area pick up your meal tickets. Now, you are officially at State Assembly!

The next step should be to locate other members from your chapter and get with them. You can plan meeting at designated places before business sessions, luncheons or banquets. However, if you miss catching them before these events don’t let that stop you from attending. This is a great way to make new friends! Of course, a room full of strangers is always a little intimidating, but here is the solution: Just walk up to a table that is not full and ask, “Is anyone sitting here?” and you will always receive a gracious offer to sit down and join in at any table.

The State Assembly Registration form has options for Delegate/Alternate but our chapter has not met yet to determine that. What should I do?

The voting members at the State Assembly or any special meeting of the TSSDAC shall be, by right of office, the State Officers, the Honorary State Regents, the National Officers and Honorary National Officers who are members of the TSSDAC, the Chapter Officers, and the delegates from the chapters. Each chapter shall be entitled to one additional delegate for every ten (10) members, or fraction thereof, in good standing. No voting member or delegate shall be entitled to more than one vote at the State Assembly.

Your Chapter Regent will be turning in her Credentials form prior to the State Assembly. The Credentials will list the Delegates/Alternates. If you are one, make sure your name is on that form and the State Assembly Credentials & Registration committees will handle it from there.

Each member attending the State Assembly shall pay a $10.00 registration fee if paid in advance. Registration fees paid at the door will be $15.00.

Dues, Donations, and Subscriptions

The annual dues of TSSDAC shall be $8 per member and shall be payable prior to October 1st for the succeeding fiscal year. Dues not received by the State Treasurer by October 1st shall incur a late fee of $5 per member.
State and national dues are due at the time a new application is submitted to National. Members admitted by the National Society after October 1st of any year do not pay additional state dues until October 1st of the following year.
The DAC magazine, “The Colonial Courier”, is the official publication of the Society and is published three times a year. The "Annual Printout of Members" form that is sent to your chapter includes space to order the magazine at a cost of $7.00 per year. Members are encouraged to include a subscription order with their dues payment.
The printing of the National Yearbook is based on orders received by November 1st. That means only a limited number of copies is available for late orders. The "Annual Printout of Members" form that is sent to your chapter includes space to order the NSDAC Yearbook at a cost of $15.00 per copy. A member may order a copy after November 1st at a cost of $20.00, and must send the request to the National Headquarters with a $20.00 check payable to: NSDAC. Members are encouraged to include a Yearbook order with their dues payment.
